Description
Founded in 1925 by Marcel Rochas, this fashion house in Paris attracts some of the world’s best known celebrities. Anniston, Dunst, Kidman, Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker are just a few of his illustrious clientele.
Flying on just the first rung of world recognition, Rochas continued to produce some of the most beautiful clothing worn by anyone who could afford his pricing (which is the case of all the fashion houses). His gowns which were priced beginning at 20,000$ were well made and completely made by hand. The fashion house introduced a method that included many of the factors used in Haute Couture but did have some mechanical construction to the garment.Calling it Demi-Couture . The idea, conceived by its creative director in 2003 met with questionable approval and in 2006, Proctor and Gamble, owner of the company, discontinued production. Closing for two years, Rochas opened again in 2008 with the fist runway show in 2009. Zanini, once the right hand man for Donatella Versace became creative director and continuing with high end fashion but adding a new emphasis on ready to wear.In 2013, Zanini left Rochas.Today, Rochas, under the direction of Alessandro Dell’Acqua, continues to producesome of the most glamorous and beautiful clothing coming to us from Europe.
The tie, never worn, is made of pure silk and has no flaws.
