Turquoise Bolo Tie Rough Cut Stabilized Lacquered Unisex
I obtained this vintage turquoise bolo tie at an estate sale. There are 3 turquoise stones. The smaller two appear to just have been tumbled, and the larger main stone is rough cut but appears to have been lightly stabilized with an epoxy coating. I tested all 3 stones with acetone, no color came off. I also hot pin tested and no burning occurred. I don’t have a hardness testing kit but I used a kitchen knife to scratch the back in a very small spot and it was not easily scratched. I believe these stones to be genuine turquoise, but I am not an expert, so please use your own judgement with the photos and information I have provided, and feel free to reach out with any questions.
