Made by Dante, this is a great Museum Masterpiece black and white incolay stone cameo style of Mercury or Hermes and a woman tie tack pin with a chain and bar clasp. The antique gold tone tack has a deeply incised border of flowers and leaves that is enhanced by a black patina. In the center is a plaque with the image of Mercury or Hermes and a woman, both who are bare chested.
The tie tack is made from Incolay stone, a combination of minerals and chemicals, and are meant to mimic genuine cameos. The Museum Masterpiece series of cufflinks depict artwork done by Greek and Roman artisans from 400 BC to 300 AD, and include historical events as well as mythology.
The shiny gold tone tie chain and bar secures the tie to your shirt by placing the bar through a button hole.
A nice size, it measures 5/8 inch square and 3/16 inch thick.
The tie tack is in very good vintage condition. The locking clasp works as it should.
There are no identifying marks.
All items are carefully wrapped, placed in a new gift box and tied with curling ribbon.
